The Mars Volta
WOW, this was one incredible show, The band
definitely gave their all. I saw them in july in Boston. They gave a good show
but I wasn’t that impressed. Yesterday they blew my mind. The main difference
was that in Boston they played the whole album from start to finish (It’s a
concept album, so it made sense), but yesterday they just jammed, they played a
song from the album or ep, and just improvised around the song. Simply
incredible.
The energy these guys emitted was insane. Cedric danced all over the stage and Omar occasionally danced some Salsa for the crowd. On a few occasions Omar addressed the public, and he seemed very happy to be playing at his home country. The band played for around 2 hours, much more than anybody expected and the crowd was in a state of ecstasy. The only drawback was a mosh pit that formed a few times. Other than that, a perfect show.
