No Surrounding Audio

Saturday, May 21st, 2005

Aparently my surround sound receiver is on the verge of death, and I have no idea what happened to it. It shuts itself down during the weekends (it happened last weekend, I used it during the week, it shut itself off today). weird. The crummy part is that the receiver basically is the bulk of the cost of a home theater system.

And the saga finally ends…

This afternoon I went to see episode 3 (as in Star Wars) with my friend Cesar. I for the previous sequels, I did the hardcore thing and went to the midnight showing, for this one, I decided not to, so I waited until the afternoon after. I am happy to say that Revenge of the Sith is a much better movie than the other two atrocities Lucas released on us these past six years. (more…)

mmmm, rum

Wednesday, May 18th, 2005

I just got back from rum tasting at Cuba Libre (Downtown, 4th and Colorado I think). I have to say it was an excellent experience. I tasted around 16 different rums, I pretty much avoided the Bacardi, Malibu and Captain Morgain* types of rums and pretty much focused on the purer rums. After tasting quite a few, I can easily say Don Q Gran Añejo is the best rum ever.

Rilo Kiley @ Stubbs

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

Today I went to see Rilo Kiley with my friend Cesar. I have to say the show was much better than I expected, after seeing Bright Eyes somewhat half assed show in Austin a few months again, I was prepared for something less energetic. They rocked much more than I thought was possible, which was pretty cool. I also remembered the fact that Rilo Kiley is pretty girly music, which explains the insane female to male ratio. Too bad most of them seemed to be in high school.
