ACL Recap

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

As many of you know, this weekend was the Austin City Limits Music Festival. I’ve been psyched about this thing since I bought my tickets, and some friends were flying over for it too, so it was bound to be totally awesome. Here I’ll try and recap to the best of my ability how things went down. (more…)

Happy Birthday Boo!

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005

Today is the 5 year anniversary of my favorite game of all time, Baldurs Gate 2. This game has to be the most memorable gaming experience I’ve ever had. It consumed like a month of my life during my first year of college. When I say it consumed my life, I mean I was dysfunctional while playing the thing. It took me close to 150 hours to finish the game, but wow was it worth it.

I have never played an RPG that was so epic or well done in my life. The characters seemed so real, the interactions with and between the NPCs where just great, the amount of hidden lore inside the game was incredible. I just loved the thing.

So again, Happy Birthday Boo, and may you go for the eyes.

Wow!, that was one awesome festival. I haven’t had time to take the pics out of the camera or anything, but I will get to that soon and try and write a better review.

Labor Day weekend

Monday, September 5th, 2005

This weekend has been totally awesome. On Saturday we had a bad ass grill in my friends back yard. We (well mostly him and another friend of mine, I only helped out on the grill for a while) grilled about 30 pounds of meat, split in like 20 pounds of sirloin, a bunch of pork and sausage. We also had arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), bread, corn on the cob, salad and a lot of wine. Totally awesome.

After the BBQ some of us went to the Parish for an 80s retro party. We got there pretty late and we had to wait like an hour in line, so we only danced for like an hour and a half, which kind of sucked because we didn’t get the retro out of our systems. Soooo… Yesterday we went to Elysium to finish our eighties fix. Elysium was pretty full, because of the long weekend, so that was lots of fun.

So like I said, really cool weekend.
